Manchester United’s strong February has seen two players rewarded with Premier League awards, now they’ve sent each other messages.

February was a brilliant month for Manchester United up until the loss to Fulham and two players have been rewarded for their part in the winning run Erik ten Hag‘s side went on.

Kobbie Mainoo has won the goal of the month award for his excellent strike against Wolves to win the game late on 4-3. Nutmegging Max Kilman, Mainoo then placed the ball delightfully into the far corner.

Player of the month then went to Rasmus Hojlund who scored five goals and made one assist in four games doing something only Cristiano Ronaldo and Wayne Rooney have done.

Now the pair have been sending each other messages on social media.

On Instagram, Mainoo posted a photo of him holding his goal of the month award. Under this, he wrote, “PL Goal of the month award,” with a praying emoji. After this, he sent his fellow award winner Hojlund a message, “Can’t wait to have you back bro”.

In the comments, Hojlund sent a response to Mainoo which will have fans dying to see the Dane back on the pitch. He commented, “Congrats bro. Soon back enjoying on the pitch with you”.

These two are two-thirds of the trio of rising stars at Old Trafford who have kicked on and become pivotal in 2024, with Alejandro Garnacho being the third.

Under Mainoo’s post, other teammates were showing their support too, with Shea Lacey and Dan Gore among those to react.

The future is very bright for Manchester United

The sight of these two winning these awards so young only further hammers home the idea that United’s future is very bright.

With half of the spine sorted for the next decade, United are an excellent young defender and partner for Mainoo away from effectively completing the squad.

There are still areas to improve but having a strong, young and potentially world-beating spine could easily be built around by Ineos.

This has all left us excited to see how the next few years unfold with United’s top-tier talents and who will be added to this group.
