Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford has outlined his position on the stiff competition for places in the England squad. But the substitute stole the spotlight, coming on to fire home a beauty and clinch a 4-2 win in Dallas. The substitutes who did not feature against Croatia had a practice game against Kansas City, which Rashford missed, further stoking concerns about an injury. However, it was confirmed that he trained with his fellow countrymen on Saturday. The debate over whether Rashford or Gordon deserves a starting berth continues to swirl, but the United star is focused on his own game rather than the external chatter. He also outlined what the Three Lions must do to get the better of Ghana. Rashford remarks Rashford said, “We’re one team and we have to fight for each other in the exact same way that you fight for your club teams. That’s the norm now.” “We understand it’s difficult because everybody wants to play and a lot of players deserve to play. At some point, players are going to be disappointed, but it’s about how you handle it.” He said of the upcoming encounter with Ghana, “I think we have to bring an intensity that they can’t live with and we try and stick to that.” “If we can play at that level, it can win you games.” “The one thing we can predict is how we conduct ourselves over 90 minutes or 120 minutes, so I think we just have to focus on that as players.
