While his prospective new team-mates ran riot in their 4-0 win over Everton on Saturday, few could blame Raphael Varane for growing somewhat impatient with the lack of progress over his move to Manchester United. And so he did what any person locked up at their house would do: start playing in the garden with a football.
The Red Devils announced they had agreed a deal to sign the centre-back late in July to follow their £73m capture of Jadon Sancho.
Varane has agreed terms on a five-year contract as he prepares to become Ole Gunnar Solskjaker’s third summer signing.
But the defender is yet to seal his £35million transfer from Real Madrid due to paperwork regarding his visa and he is yet to be unveiled by the club.
The delay has caused concern amongst the fanbase, with Varane unlikely to be handed his debut in their Premier League season opener against Leeds United on Saturday.
But it seems only a matter of time before the 28-year-old is paraded in front of the Old Trafford faithful after his latest social media tease.

United fans can rest assured that their move for Varane has not been hijacked at the last moment after he posted a video to his official Instagram account.
Varane, who has nearly 16 million followers on the social media platform, gave a glimpse into what United can expect from their incoming signing.
In the footage uploaded to his Instagram Stories, Varane could be seen juggling a football with expert skill and control in a garden.
It is not known whether the Frenchman has already found a permanent home in Manchester, but it is the first time Varane has communicated with his fans since news of the move emerged.

It was notable that he included his location ‘Manchester, United Kingdom’ with the post, marking it with a caption underneath which read: ’Quarantine practice!’
Varane is currently self-isolating in quarantine due to the Government’s overseas travel regulations regarding coronavirus.
But as soon as his period in isolation is over, the France international is poised to be unveiled as a Manchester United player.
Man United boss Solskjaer clarified the situation regarding Varane’s delay and expects the transfer to be sealed in the near future.

“[It’s] paperwork now, you know, with Brexit and all that,” Solskjaer told the club’s official website. “I was going to say malarkey but I don’t want to go into politics!
“It’s cost us a few days, with the visa, but he’s been looking after himself.
Of course, we’ve got his medical first and hopefully that’s going to be done soon.”
There is a buzz of anticipation around Old Trafford as Solskjaer has finally found a long-term partner for Harry Maguire.
Victor Lindelof has been the Norwegian’s preferred partner for the majority of his 32-month reign in Manchester.
But doubts over the 27-year-old’s consistency convinced Solskjaer to search for a defender with experience of playing at the highest level.
Former United player Roy Keane praised the club for their business in the transfer market so far and singled out Varane for the “experience” he can bring.
Speaking to ITV during their Community Shield coverage, he said: “Two very good signings, particularly Varane with his experience with the problem at the back.

“Sancho, a young talented player who did well in Germany.
“I still think what City have done and Chelsea with Lukaku, United still need one or two into the group to really challenge.”
Varane is one of the most decorated footballers still playing, having triumphed at the 2018 World Cup with France.
He has also won three LaLiga titles since moving to Spain, in addition to four Champions League winners’ medals.

United will be hoping his star quality will rub off on his team-mates, with Solskjaer yet to add a trophy to the club’s trophy cabinet.
But with Sancho and their new juggle-master Varane, the sky is the limit for the Red Devils as they challenge for their first league title since 2012-13.
