‘Pure pain’ – Manchester United fans react to footage of Paul Pogba injury in France training – Manchester Evening News

Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba has left France training with an apparent injury.

The Red Devils star has missed the team’s last two Premier League matches due to suspension, after he was sent off for a rash challenge in the 5-0 loss to Liverpool. He is also unavailable for United’s first game back after the international break at Watford.

As a result, the former Juventus man would have been keen to get some minutes while away on international duty.

However, Pogba is now surely a major doubt for the upcoming matches against Kazakhstan and Finland on Saturday and next Tuesday respectively.

Per RMC Sport (h/t Get French Football News ), the 28-year-old limped out of the session after taking a shot.

As noted in the report, Pogba and Bayern Munich defender Benjamin Pavard were the only two outfield players to take part in training on Monday, with Didier Deschamps waiting for the rest of the squad to arrive following club commitments.

Although supporters have been left a little miffed by the midfielder’s performances at club level this season, plenty shared their disappointment on social media after footage of the incident emerged.

Pogba started the season well for United, although finding a regular position in the setup for him has become a challenge for manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

The Frenchman has played out wide and in central midfield, although he’s struggled to showcase consistency in either role.

Pogba’s future at United is also in doubt. He’s yet to sign a contract extension with the club and his current terms are poised to run out at the end of the campaign.

The injury is another blow for Solskjaer on a day Marcus Rashford and Luke Shaw pulled out of the England squad due to fitness issues.
