Provisional squad numbers for the 2023/24 season have been submitted to the Premier League – but there could be changes after the end of the transfer window on 1 September.
New signing Rasmus Hojlund has not yet been given a number as he works to reach match fitness following his arrival from Atalanta. The centre-forward’s number will be confirmed in due course.
Others will start the season in their existing numbers, including Alejandro Garnacho as 49, but with the possibility of change after the transfer window closes when it will be clear which other numbers in the squad are vacant.
Fans are urged to consider this risk when buying numbered replica jerseys in the next few weeks.

Most numbers will remain unchanged from the list submitted to the Premier League on Thursday, including new signing Andre Onana, who has been registered to wear his preferred number 24 shirt, as he did previously at Internazionale and Ajax.
Mason Mount will also remain in United’s famous number seven jersey after joining from Chelsea this summer.
