Price tag soaring for United’s 14 G/A dream signing, INEOS might have to think again – report

While much of the chatter surrounds Manchester United closing in on Matheus Cunha, another critical update has emerged regarding another attacking target, Antoine Semenyo.

Given United’s struggles in front of goal, Ruben Amorim is eager to build an attack he can rely on when his team takes to the field next season.

The club’s transfer strategy is focused on recruiting quality forwards who can help restore their competitive edge in the league.

Fabrizio Romano has already assured that Cunha’s arrival is all but certain.

Now, United have been informed exactly how much it would cost to land Semenyo, the Brazilian’s ideal attacking partner.

The Peoples Person recently ran a piece highlighting why Antoine Semenyo is a player Manchester United may look to sign.

The report suggested that the former Bristol City star could be available for between £50 million and £60 million, while outlining reasons why United could justify making such a move.

Among the key reasons the report highlighted for United to consider this signing are his versatility, ability to play anywhere across the front line due to his two-footedness, and his potential as a wing-back option.

Semenyo available for £70 million

If United are as convinced as believed about the AFC Bournemouth attacker, it is now clear how much they would need to invest in the deal.

According to TBR, Bournemouth are willing to cash in on Semenyo but will only allow his departure on their terms.

While United had hoped to secure the deal for £60 million, the report claims that Andoni Iraola’s side will require the Red Devils to spend more.

The Cherries are reportedly demanding around £70 million to let their star man leave.

With player sales, United could put themselves in a position to afford the 25-year-old enjoying his best PL campaign with nine goals and five assists in 35 games.

With Cunha expected to operate as the left-sided ten, Semenyo could easily fill the right-sided ten role if not slot in as a wing-back, adding valuable upgrades to Amorim’s starting eleven.

Whether United choose to follow up the Cunha swoop with a move for Semenyo, given other pressing needs such as securing a top striker, remains to be seen.

Still, such a deal would certainly signal their ambition in the Amorim project.
