Paul Pogba won’t make a decision on his future until the end of the month and is set to start the season at Manchester United, according to reports.
It’s been a great summer so far for United with the signing of Jadon Sancho and Raphael Varane’s imminent arrival, but the uncertainty surrounding Pogba’s future is threatening to put a dampener on things.
United are already after a new centre-midfielder and their need for one could become even more pressing if the Frenchman leaves, having now entered the final year of his contract.
However, United may have to wait for a decision on Pogba’s future as the Telegraph report that he is ‘ready to take his time over his next move.’
It’s reported that the 28 year old will likely start the season with United when they get their Premier League campaign underway against Leeds United on August 14.
It’s added that Paris Saint-Germain remain interested in Pogba and are ‘watching the situation carefully’, but with United unlikely to compose business on the eve of the season the saga may rumble right up until the August 31 deadline.
Meanwhile, West Ham United are interested in signing Brazilian youngster Igor Gomes as a possible alternative to Jesse Lingard, according to reports.
Lingard spent the second half of last season on loan at the London Stadium and proved to be a big hit, so much so that the Hmmers hope to re-sign him.
However, their quest has not been easy, meaning that they are now reportedly eyeing up alternative options.
