Pogba ‘biding his time’ over Man Utd renewal, but happy with club’s ‘direction’ under Solskjaer

Paul Pogba is ‘biding his time’ over signing a new contract at Manchester United, but is happy with the club’s ‘direction’ under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

Pogba has entered the final year of his contract with the Red Devils and has been linked with a move to Paris Saint-Germain, with the midfielder a reported transfer target for the Parisians during the current window before the signing of Lionel Messi from Barcelona.

The France international started United’s 5-1 win over Leeds on the Premier League’s opening weekend and was in sensational form, becoming just the seventh player in the division’s history to provide four assists in a single fixture.

United are keen to retain the services of the 28-year-old and the Mail are reporting the club are willing to offer Pogba a four-year deal on improved terms, though the star is keen to take a patient approach as he considers his future.

Pogba is believed to be considering all options but is ‘optimistic’ about the direction the Red Devils are heading in, with the club having secured the marquee arrivals of Jadon Sancho and Raphael Varane during the summer transfer window.

The prospect of Pogba becoming available on a free transfer next summer is set to alert several of European football’s leading clubs however, reports persisting that PSG will return with a huge contract offer of around €600,000-a-week.
