Here are our player ratings as Man United lost 3-1 vs Man City.

Andre Onana – Probably the only real positive for United. Made some superb saves and his distribution was excellent. 8/10

Diogo Dalot – Had a solid enough game defensively. Dealt with Doku well. Didn’t factor in the offensive side of the game. 5/10

Raphael Varane – Superb for large stretches. Was positionally perfect. Won headers galore and made some important blocks. 8/10

Jonny Evans – Pleasantly decent. Even carried the ball out from the back on occasion. Dealt with Haaland well. 7/10

Victor Lindelof – Started at left-back but just doesn’t have the pace. Won the aerial duels but Walker and Foden got the better of him. 4/10

Casemiro – Sat just in front of the back four and did a decent enough job. It’s hard to match City’s energy in that area of the field. 5/10

Kobbie Mainoo – Probably the most composed player out there in red. He worked hard, was comfy in possession and did his job. 6/10

Scott McTominay – A non-factor. Tried to carry United forward but just didn’t get on the ball anywhere often enough. 3/10

Bruno Fernandes – Worked hard but never really got into those threatening positions. Played a hand in the Rashford opener but that was about it. 5/10

Alejandro Garnacho – It wasn’t his day. Couldn’t hold onto the ball, while he never threatened the City defence. 3/10

Marcus Rashford – Produced a moment of magic to start the game, but faded pretty badly. Had a couple of half-chances and fluffed his lines. 5/10

Subs:

Sofyan Amrabat – Committed an awful error which led to a third.

Antony – Brought on to add some extra energy.

Willy Kambwala – Brought on at right-back to help see the game out.

Omari Forson – Didn’t get involved.
