Here are our player ratings as Man United beat Newcastle United 3-1 at Old Trafford.

Andre Onana – Made some smart saves, particularly in the second half. His kicking game was good enough. 6/10

Aaron Wan-Bissaka – Was given a tough time of it by Anthony Gordon. The right-back did just about enough despite the Newcastle man scoring. 5/10

Jonny Evans – Used all his experience to keep the lively Isak relatively quiet. Played well despite not being fully fit. 7/10

Casemiro – His best performance at centre-half. Made some important tackles and cleared a goalward-bound shot brilliantly. 7/10

Diogo Dalot – An unspectacular but steady performance. 5/10

Sofyan Amrabat – His best week in a United shirt. Has strung back-to-back good performances together in that defensive midfield role. Impressive. 7/10

Kobbie Mainoo – Back to his best. Scored a goal to set United on their way. Looked sharp at the heart of midfield. 7/10

Scott McTominay – Fairly quiet. Didn’t really impact the game in an attacking sense but did work hard. 5/10

Alejandro Garnacho – Put in the effort but struggled against Trippier for the most part. Had a couple of half-chances. Looked tired. 5/10

Amad – Genuinely made a difference. His goal was a lovely strike that gave Dubravka no chance. Always looked threatening. MOTM. 8/10

Bruno Fernandes – Superb to have him back. Created chances galore and was always looking to make things happen. 8/10

Subs:

Lisandro Martinez – Great to see him back out there after injury.

Marcus Rashford – Given a few minutes upon his return from the treatment room.

Rasmus Hojlund – Scored a lovely goal to quieten down the doubters.

Christian Eriksen – Not enough time to mark.
