PL-winning manager open to taking Man United job as pressure mounts on Solskjaer – We All Follow United

Antonio Conte open to taking the Manchester United job as pressure mounts on Ole Gunnar Solskjaer According to Sky Sports reporter Gianluca Di Marzio (h/t Daily Mail), Premier League-winning manager Antonio Conte is open to taking the Manchester United job should the opportunity present itself.

The Italian is one of the most celebrated coaches in recent history and is currently available after parting ways with Inter Milan this summer. Conte led the Nerazzurri to the Scudetto last season, their first in 11 years.

The 52-year-old has prior experience of managing in England having led Chelsea from 2016-2018. He led the Blues to the title in 2017, setting a new record for most wins in a season.

Antonio Conte is currently unemployed. Conte boasts a proven track record and has no shortage of suitors. He rejected Tottenham Hotspur in the summer and will ignore the interest from Arsenal.

“He would only accept a winning project.”

Unlike the North London duo, United have a squad that can compete with the best teams on their day. Di Marzio goes on to add that the Italian is looking for a winning project. United could provide him with just that.

“I think he would only accept if say Manchester United called.”

(imago Images) Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has built a solid squad but at times appears to be unable to wield it to its full potential. The Norwegian was tactically naive against Young Boys and threw away not just the initiative but also the match.

He has now had two full seasons at United but is yet to land a single major trophy. Unless he can deliver, it remains to be seen just how long his goodwill will last at the club.
