PL side preparing bumper new contract offer for 18yo revelation, United cannot give up so easily – report

Under INEOS, Manchester United appear to be focusing on recruiting Premier League-proven talents, as demonstrated by the deals for Bryan Mbeumo and Matheus Cunha. Signing players from teams in the bottom half is a smart strategy, with Wolverhampton Wanderers’ Mateus Mane now in United’s crosshairs. The Englishman has proven to be a revelation for Wolves, despite the Midlands outfit being dead last in the Premier League table and primed for relegation. In 21 appearances for the first team this season, the 18-year-old has accrued two goals and as many assists, impressing onlookers with his pace and trickery. Mateus Mane has been a revelation Capable of playing across the frontline and even as a central midfielder, the England U18 international excels as an attacking midfielder. With Bruno Fernandes’ future yet to be resolved, and given Mason Mount‘s injury record, it makes sense for the Red Devils to target the Wolves youngster. The likes of Liverpool, Arsenal, Manchester City, Chelsea, and Tottenham Hotspur are all keeping tabs, as are European giants like Paris Saint-Germain, Real Madrid, and Bayern Munich. However, according to Teamtalk, Rob Edwards’ side are desperate not to lose their academy product, and are preparing a mega contract offer to ward off interested suitors. New contract offer in the pipeline “TEAMtalk understands that Wolves remain hopeful they can keep hold of teenage sensation Mateus Mane, even if the club suffers relegation this season, amid interest from Liverpool, Manchester United and other elite sides. “Sources have told TEAMtalk that Mane’s performances have caught the eye of England’s elite – including Liverpool, Manchester United, Arsenal, Manchester City, Chelsea, and Tottenham. However, European giants such as Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, and Paris Saint-Germain, are all closely monitoring his progress, too. “Despite the mounting interest, Wolves are determined to keep their starlet. Mane is currently contracted at Molineux until 2029, having agreed a new extension on his 18th birthday in September, but another new deal is already in the works. “Such has been Mane’s impact, we understand Wolves are preparing a bumper new offer to further secure his future.” Mateus Mane is currently contracted to remain at Molineux until 2029. With an improved deal in the pipeline, it will be interesting to see what he decides to do. Relegation and an offer too irresistible to refuse could yet change Wolves’ minds. INEOS will take the final call. Feature image Ben Roberts Photo via Getty Images The Peoples Person has been one of the world’s leading Man United news sites for over a decade.
