Pictures: United’s away shirt for next season surfaces online, it’s another retro banger

Images have surfaced online supposedly showing Manchester United’s away kit for next season.

Instagram page @jerseyreview shared two snaps earlier today of what they claim to be United’s second shirt for the 2025/26 campaign.

The shirt is white with a retro print in lilacy-grey, and features the devil crest from this season’s third shirt in place of the traditional club badge.

As ever, it is dominated by Adidas’ trademark three stripes which run down the shoulders and sit opposite the devil on the chest, and has sponsor Snapdragon emblazoned across the front.

The colour scheme is reminiscent of 90s goalkeeper shirts, like a muted version of the 1993/95 away goalkeepers shirt famously worn by Peter Schmeichel.

The post mentions ‘Fan Version’ in the caption, but based on previous posts this is probably to differentiate it from the ‘Player Version’ designed to be worn on-field, rather than it being a mock-up of a design created by a fan.

The page itself seems to have a good track record, with accurate pictures of all three of United’s shirts from this season apparently posted before the official announcements were made.

Fans will of course be divided but the response in the comments is largely positive so far.

Of course, whatever it ends up looking like the shirt will soon pale into insignificance as the transfer window will shape which players will be pulling it on next season.

The rumour mill is already in overdrive, with recent stories including a blockbuster pursuit of Brentford forward Brian Mbeumo and a move for River Plate sensation Franco Mastantuono.

A firmer prospect seems to be Wolverhampton Wanderers attacker Matheus Cunha, whose release clause is reportedly no problem for the Red Devils.

It will also be intriguing to see which of the current crop are denied the opportunity to pose in the new kits for close-season photoshoots.

Joshua Zirkzee is the latest man to be linked with an Old Trafford exit, which would be a shame given his upturn in form before his injury, while fellow striker Rasmus Hojlund’s time in red is reportedly up.
