(Picture) “Special chapter in my life”: Amorim’s right-hand man pens emotional message as he bids farewell to United

Ruben Amorim’s right-hand man, Carlos Fernandes, has sent a farewell message to Manchester United following his departure. Amorim’s era draws to a close On Monday, United confirmed that they had parted ways with Amorim after 14 months in charge. United stated the decision was made to give the team the best chance of achieving the highest possible league finish. Darren Fletcher is poised to be in the dugout this evening when the Red Devils take on Burnley at Turf Moor. United are on the hunt for a caretaker boss, who will oversee the rest of the season. A recent report covered by The Peoples Person relayed that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is the leading candidate to assume this role. Talks have been held with Solskjaer’s camp and a deal for a sensational return to Old Trafford is thought to be advancing. 🚨🔴 Personal terms between Manchester United and Ole Gunnar Solskjær are not an issue. Fernandes joined Amorim at United from Sporting CP, alongside first-team coaches Adelio Candido and Emanuel Ferro, goalkeeping coach Jorge Vital and fitness coach Paulo Barreira. Amorim has yet to break his silence on his exit but Fernandes has taken to Instagram to thank United and all concerned with the club. Fernandes pens farewell message He wrote on Instagram, “Thank you, Manchester United.” “Thank you to the world-class players I had the privilege to coach and to learn from.” “Thank you to the staff members who showed true support. Thank you to the fans who stood by us.” He added, “In the end, working at a football club of this dimension doesn’t just test your knowledge — it reveals character.” “A special chapter in my life. Proud to have served as Assistant Manager of Manchester United.” In the 63 games Amorim oversaw, he managed just 24 wins, earning himself the unfortunate record of the worst win ratio (31.9%) of any permanent United gaffer.
