Three key Man United stars have been named in the BBC’s Team of the Week following thumping Leeds United 5-1.
Wow. What a weekend that was. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s Red Devils were rampant against one of our oldest rivals, with this opening day result far better than last time out (3-1 loss to Crystal Palace).
Raphael Varane is Red, Jadon Sancho too. The rest of Solskjaer’s squad picked up where they left off. It was almost the complete performance from a side who were without their two new signings, plus Marcus Rashford and Edinson Cavani.
This United side has made their intentions clear. They’re in it to win it. With star power all over the field, why shouldn’t we feel confident?
Anyway, for their performances, a key Man United trip have been named in the first BBC Team of the Week of the season after their brilliant displays.

Let’s start with the man who probably played his best-ever game in United colours; Paul Pogba. To pick up four assists in one game is practically unheard of, with the Frenchman playing some delicious balls all over the park. He was playing with confidence, swagger, and belief. It was a privilege to watch him work this weekend.
Then you have Bruno Fernandes who picked up from where he left off last term. He’d score the opening goal, before tucking home another couple. Each strike was better than the last for our Portuguese Magnifico, who waited for fans to return before hitting his first Red Devils hat-trick.
Last, but not least we have Mason Greenwood. This is the performance that impressed me most, because it felt like the teenager had been putting in some serious work over the summer – and it showed. It wasn’t just the clinical finishing. It was the all-round game. He played with confidence, purpose and intent. What a pleasure it was to watch him work.
