Manchester United winger Omari Forson has chosen his next club after deciding to quit Manchester United.

Omari Forson made the decision a fortnight ago to leave Manchester United on a free transfer.

The topic of his future was not entirely cut and dry, with The MEN claiming United had not given up hope of convincing him to stay.

Then United’s released and retained list stated that an offer had been made to Forson to try and keep him.

Omari Forson has chosen his next club and he will not be signing with another Premier League team when his Manchester United contract expires.

Instead the young winger is set to head to Italy, signing a deal with Serie A side Monza, which will go through on July 1.

Fabrizio Romano writes on X: “Omari Forson to Monza, here we go! As revealed last week, 2004 born talent leaves Manchester United as free agent — decision was already made.

“Forson has agreed on terms to join Monza on free transfer from #MUFC, he will now play in Serie A. Contract until June 2028.”

Monza finished in 12th place in Serie A last season, winning just two fewer games than former champions Napoli.

Forson’s move gives him a greater chance of playing regular first team football, and is a brave decision for him to take.

Forson showed promise

Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag believed in Omari Forson, featuring him prominently in pre-seaosn last year and then handing him his first team debut.

Forson’s expiring contract did not deter the manager from involving Forson, but the 19-year-old was not convinced.

As the season wore on, Forson was overtaken by Amad, and failed to make the bench for the FA Cup Final.

He may have simply viewed the task of making it at Manchester United as too difficult, and is betting on himself to have success in Italy.
