Official: United unveil squad number for Senne Lammens

Manchester United have confirmed the shirt number of new signing Senne Lammens.

Lammens joins United

On Monday evening, United announced that they had agreed a deal with Royal Antwerp for Senne Lammens. The goalkeeper completed his move to the club on transfer deadline day.

After a difficult start to the season for United’s goalkeeping duo of Altay Bayindir and Andre Onana, the club elected to dip into the market for a shot-stopper.

The Red Devils had two main names on their list – Lammens and Aston Villa’s Emi Martinez. Lammens was believed to be the leading candidate but United lined up a move for Martinez in case an agreement with Antwerp couldn’t be found.

However, United managed to reach a compromise with the Belgian Pro League outfit for an initial 21m euros (£18.1m) plus add-ons.

Lammens put pen to paper on a five-year deal with United.

As he looks forward to his debut for the club, United have confirmed Lammens’ squad number.

United reveal Lammens’ shirt number

The 20-time English champions have announced that Lammens will sport the number 31 shirt.
