Nuno sacked Nuno Espirito Santo would take charge of Tottenham during the summer, replacing fellow countryman, Jose Mourinho.

Nuno got off to a great start in north London, picking up a 1-0 win over Manchester City on the opening weekend of the Premier League season before winning another two on the bounce.

However, results since have been less than impressive, with Spurs winning just two of their last seven league ties under the Portuguese, as well as seriously struggling for goals.

This would lead to Nuno being officially relieved of his duties on this day last week:

Nuno releases statement Now though, a week one from him leaving the Spurs job, Nuno has taken to Instagram to release a statement.

Nuno was fairly upbeat in his statement, which you can read in full below:

Wow, the last few weeks have been hectic to say the least. This is football the most ruthless sport in the game, only a couple of weeks back I was crowned Manager of the Month and fast forward to the present and it’s been some days since my dismissal at Spurs. This is life, I move on forward now looking for my next challenge and finally I want to thank the fans of Spurs, when I joined this great club I envisaged a vision to bring trophies but all didn’t go to plan. That’s all’s really we live and learn, look forward to keeping all of you posted and thank you once again for your constant support.

Will we see the Portuguese back in the Premier League in the near future given all of Newcastle, Aston Villa and Norwich are currently looking for a manager?
