He was previously linked with a move to the Spanish capital when Zinedine Zidane was at the club.
Pogba returned to United back in 2016 after £89m was paid for his services to Juventus. Following the move, he has not reached the highest level consistently at Manchester, much to the disappointment of many supporters.
This would have been amplified when the midfielder continued to produce world-class performances for the France national team. Relations between the Glazers and Mino Raiola, his representative, have also worsened over the years, which did not help his case.
Paul Pogba acknowledges the fans for their support. The France international has recently picked up an injury which puts him on the sidelines till January. He can reach a pre-contract agreement with other clubs in the winter transfer window if he wants to leave after the season. It is said that the injury could influence him to leave the English club as a free agent and that it’s ‘now or never’ for him and Los Galacticos.
The La Liga club is still interested in the Red Devils superstar, having been a long term admirer of him. They would still have to incur a hit on their finances even if the Frenchman joins on a free due to his massive wages, which constitutes €12m a year after tax.
This is without considering the role of the infamous agent Raiola who will demand a high fee as commission. Should the France midfielder leave, the Premier League club would suffer the worst as they could not utilise him to his best.
