Manchester United youngster Brandon Williams made the dream start to his loan spell at Norwich City on Tuesday evening, helping the Canaries hammer AFC Bournemouth 6-0 in the second round of the Carabao Cup at Carrow Road.

Signed on loan for the duration of the 2021/22 campaign on Monday, Williams, who was determined to leave United ahead of the transfer window closing next week in pursuit of regular first-team football, was thrown straight into starting line-up by Norwich chief Daniel Farke.

Although he did not get himself on the scoresheet, as the Canaries ran riot against the Championship outfit, the 20-year-old played 76 minutes of the contest before being replaced by Dimitris Giannoulis.

Although Norwich were up against a much-changed Bournemouth side, they most certainly put on a show to secure their first win of the season in league and cup.

As you would expect, and rightfully so, the Norwich supporters were sent home happy because of the result and plenty of them were also left in awe of Williams’ first appearance in the famous yellow and green.

Many Canaries supporters took to social media to wax lyrical about his performance as well as calling for him to be handed another start when they face Leicester City in the Premier League this weekend.

Below, MEN Sport has taken a close look at what some Norwich supporters had to say.

As you can see from the messages displayed above, Norwich’s supporters were most certainly left impressed by Williams’ debut.

A loan switch away from Old Trafford for the very first time will most certainly benefit the youngster and allow him to gain some valuable experience at a club that has proven in the past they know how to get a tune out of a young player with potential.

For example, Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Oliver Skipp spent last season at Carrow Road and proved to be outstanding, resulting in him becoming immensely popular.

Williams will now be hoping to follow up his strong showing by starting Saturday’s clash with Leicester.
