Newcastle keen on signing €30m-rated Man United midfielder

Newcastle United continues to admire Man United midfielder Scott McTominay. Scotland international has played over 180 games for the Red Devils after rising through the ranks and is among United’s longest-serving footballers. McTominay was a regular starter under new manager Erik Ten Hag at the start of the campaign. Scott managed to keep Casemiro on the bench due to his fine form. However, the 26-year-old midfielder has struggled for regular starts in recent weeks after losing his spot to Casemiro, a £70m summer acquisition from Real Madrid. The Scottish midfielder has missed Man United’s last two matches due to sickness, has not started a league match since the Manchester derby in October, and is attracting interest from rival teams. Reports had previously suggested that there are several PL suitors who are keeping a close eye on the midfielder’s situation at Theatre of Dreams. However, a new claim has revealed Scott has admirers at Newcastle United, but a January move is unlikely as the Red Devils have made their stance clear that their academy graduate is not for sale, as Erik ten Hag continues to emphasize squad depth ahead of the rest of the campaign. McTominay is currently under deal at Man United until the summer of 2025, with the option for another 12-month extension. Scott has been on the Magpies’ radar for a while now. Initial reports of the Magpies monitoring the 26-year-old midfielder emerged during last summer’s transfer window, but nothing came to fruition.
