Mourinho set to solve Amorim’s biggest conundrum as Fenerbahce eye stunning United raid for wantaway star – report

Manchester United’s derby win has been followed by back-to-back defeats as well as the stunning revelation that Marcus Rashford wants to leave his boyhood club.

In an interview given a couple of days after he was left out of the squad for the Manchester derby, the Englishman revealed his desire for a new challenge.

The news has not impressed Ruben Amorim, who has proceeded to drop him for three games in a row, nor the dressing room with INEOS currently backing the head coach’s stance.

The Red Devils will seriously consider bids of £50 million to £60 million for the forward but the figure coupled with the player’s humongous £375,000 per week wages (as per capology) has already seen Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain leave the race.

Rashford’s future up in the air

Saudi Arabian teams are interested but the 27-year-old has no intention of trading Europe for the Middle East at this stage of his career.

Loan offers are unlikely to be sanctioned as the Red Devils plan on utilising the money raised from the sale to go out and buy an elite replacement.

Talks of a swap deal with Victor Osimhen heading to Old Trafford have surfaced as relayed by The Peoples Person but it remains to be seen if such a deal materialised in January.

Teamtalk have now revealed that Fenerbahce have also entered the race with former United boss Jose Mourinho keen to bring the England international to Turkey.

Rivals Galatasaray had also expressed their desire to acquire Rashford but both Turkish giants would struggle to pay United’s asking price and the wages.

“Sources have revealed to TEAMtalk that Man Utd are not trying to force Rashford’s exit but would seriously consider bids of £50 million to £60 million for him.

“Rashford has interest from several clubs. Paris Saint-Germain have maintained contact with his agents and he is considered a prime target for the French giants.

Fenerbahce want Rashford

“Sources say that Fenerbahce, who are managed by former Man Utd boss Jose Mourinho, have also shown interest in Rashford. They haven’t held talks with the player’s agents yet but are keeping close tabs on his situation.

“Rashford’s wages and price tag would be too expensive for the Turkish side so a loan with an option to buy would be preferable for them. If the Red Devils agree to pay a portion of Rashford’s salary a deal COULD happen next month.”

Fenerbahce’s record buy is former United loanee Sofyan Amrabat, who they acquired last summer for €22 million, a far cry from United’s asking price.

Ideally, a loan with an option to buy set at a lower price point might work with United having to cover a portion of his wages. Whether INEOS accept such a proposition remains to be seen.
