Mason Mount has sent a clear-cut message about the “most important thing” for the Manchester United players in the locker room under manager Erik ten Hag.
Manchester United snapped up Mason Mount from Premier League rivals Chelsea last summer in an initial deal worth £55m, with a further £5m in add-ons.
Mount was handed the legendary United No 7 shirt in his debut season at Old Trafford, but the former Chelsea star struggled in his first season at the club.
The 25-year-old United player’s 2023-24 season was disrupted due to injury, with Mount managing only five starts in 14 Premier League appearances.
Mount made 20 appearances across all competitions for United last season, with the ex-Blues ace scoring once and registering a single assist for the Red Devils.
The United star missed Euro 2024 in Germany with England this summer after his run of form and lack of playing time at Old Trafford in the 2023-24 season.
However, Mount has managed to secure regular playing time during United’s pre-season tour ahead of the 2024-25 Premier League season.

Mount talks Man Utd players’ objective
Mason Mount started in the opening pre-season defeat to Rosenborg last month and returned to the starting XI for the 2-0 win over Scottish side Rangers.
The England international has been involved in the United States leg of the pre-season tour and played the first half against Arsenal in the 2-1 defeat last month.
Mount didn’t make the starting XI for the 3-2 win over Real Betis on Thursday, but he did come off the bench and replaced Scott McTominay in the second half.
Despite his injury-hit debut season at United, Mount did lift his first piece of major silverware with the Red Devils after the FA Cup final win over Manchester City.
The Three Lions star has now revealed that the “most important thing” for United players under Erik ten Hag is to win more trophies.
“We know what we can do as a group and I think we showed it at the end of last season,” he told Manchester United’s official website.
“We definitely have a group that can win trophies and that’s the most important thing.
“We’ll keep trying to do that and stay focused on that goal because this is Manchester United and we need to set the bar as high as we can and we know how high the bar is.
“Now it’s time for us to perform. But we’re ready for it, as I said, and as many trophies as we can get, win as many games as we can.
“That’s our focus throughout the whole group. We’re definitely on the same page.”

Marcus Rashford echoes Mount’s sentiments
Mount is not alone with his desire to see United winning more trophies, with Marcus Rashford making his stance clear on the matter as well.
Marcus Rashford, who has spent his entire playing career at Old Trafford, has lifted a Europa League, two FA Cups and two League Cups with United so far.
But the 26-year-old United star has admitted that he is keen to secure the Champions League trophy and the Premier League title with the Red Devils.
“I think as you get older, your dreams change as well,” Rashford told Manchester United’s official website.
“So, you know, in the beginning it was just about playing for Man United. And when you get there, it’s about winning.
“So I still have, you know, dreams of winning the big trophies, the Premier League and Champions League with Man United. So, you know, hopefully we can get that done.”
