Marcus Rashford provides injury update after being replaced for England on international duty

Marcus Rashford has provided an injury update for Manchester United following the winger being taken off in England’s 2-0 win over Malta.

The Manchester United winger looked to be struggling with a problem for the Three Lions and Gareth Southgate decided to remove Marcus Rashford as a precaution.

Erik ten Hag must be so frustrated with the number of injuries United have had this season, it is almost unprecedented the sheer amount of problems the club have had to deal with.

Andre Onana suffered an adductor problem during Cameroon’s win over Mauritius and he may be out for a while which could leave United without their first-choice goalkeeper.

Well, for Rashford, the injury doesn’t look to be too serious as he has been pictured in England training which will be a big boost for Ten Hag.

England finish their Euro 2024 qualifying campaign with a trip to North Macedonia on Monday night. The Three Lions have already qualified for the finals next summer.

The former Ajax boss may be hoping that Southgate gives the England winger a rest but it seems more likely that he will feature for his country in the game.

United’s injury problems

It seems every time United have an international break, a few of their players return with an injury problem to contend with.

The sheer amount of injuries that the Red Devils have suffered throughout this season has become almost farcical and it does look like something will need to be done by the club to prevent this from happening in the future.

However, having Rashford available for the Red Devils’ game next Sunday against Sean Dyche’s Everton will be vital if they are to take anything away from Goodison Park.

With some other top sides in the Premier League facing off against each other next weekend, Sunday’s game in Merseyside will be a great chance for the Red Devils to cut the gap on the top four.
