Marcelo Bielsa provides Llorente & Koch updates before Burnley vs Leeds

Burnley vs Leeds Leeds United are back in Premier League action on Sunday afternoon.

The Whites have not had the best of starts to the 2021/22 season, beginning their campaign with a 5-1 thrashing at the hands of Manchester United at Old Trafford.

Leeds would then play host to Everton this past Saturday. However, Marcelo Bielsa’s side were unable to pick up the win, instead having to come from behind twice to earn a 2-2 draw.

The Peacocks will, however, likely feel much more confident of picking up a win against Burnley on Sunday.

The Clarets have lost their opening two games of the season to Brighton and Liverpool.

They also struggled against the Yorkshire outfit last term, losing 1-0 and then 4-0 in the two Premier League meetings between them.

Leeds team news latest Ahead of Sunday’s game, Marcelo Bielsa would conduct his latest press conference on Friday.

When doing so, the Argentine would be drawn on Diego Llorente. The Spaniard would miss Leeds’ opening two league games of the season, but got 45 minutes under his belt in the League Cup earlier this week vs Crewe.

And, when asked if Llorente is ready for 90 minutes in his press conference on Friday, Biela stated:

“We think so.”

Bielsa was also asked for an update on Robin Koch, who does not seem to be fully fit ahead of Burnley:

“Evolving, but not completely healthy.”

Elsewhere, Bielsa had the following to say on Patrick Bamford, who earned his first England call-up earlier this week:

“I am happy. He has made a lot of effort to be called up and finally he has achieved it. He deserves it. I hope it’s the start of his international evolution.”
