St Johnstone boss Callum Davidson has lavished the praise on Manchester United loanee Reece Devine.
It was announced last month that Devine had completed a loan move to the Scottish Premiership and the loan deal is the defender’s first experience of football away from United — receiving first-team minutes should accelerate his development.
Devine, 19, made a total of 16 appearances in the Premier League 2 last campaign for United’s U23s under coach Neil Wood.
His departure was the first academy loan deal of the summer transfer window at Old Trafford and he’s since made his professional debut for the Scottish side after starting at left wing-back away at Ross County on Saturday afternoon.
Not only did Devine win a penalty for St Johnstone — although they failed to convert that opportunity from the spot — the United loanee won Man of the Match for his performance, which certainly isn’t a bad way to mark your professional debut.
“I thought he was excellent. All credit to Reece, that was his first senior game,” St Johnstone boss Davidson said.

“You can see he’s got ability, he’s got pace. He will be a threat for us. He put in a very good performance.”
