Manchester United are off to a strong start in 2024, defeating West Ham at Old Trafford in the team’s latest win.

Rasmus Hojlund‘s first few months in the Premier League were testing. Now he can’t stop scoring.

The Dane netted the opening goal for Manchester United against West Ham, with Alejandro Garnacho scoring two in the second half.

Rasmus Hojlund praised

Rasmus Hojlund now has 10 goals in all competitions for the season plus a further two assists.

He is making great progress, having already matched his goal tally at Atalanta last season.

The best is yet to come from the player who celebrated his 21st birthday yesterday too, with United acting early to bring him to Old Trafford last summer.

Hojlund was praised on MUTV after the game, with former United defender Phil Bardsley commenting that he believes he will improve a lot.

Bardsley said: “You never really judge a player on his first season but the signs are there. Next season you’ll see a totally different player. Let’s hope he keeps on scoring goals.

He also praised his growing connection with Marcus Rashford and Alejandro Garnacho.

“There’s a good blend a good balance if they keep on learning each other’s games they will improve, I’m excited about this front three.”

Hojlund loves scoring goals

Hojlund is Manchester United’s current top scorer, the first player to hit double figures so far this season.

Former United striker Dion Dublin said he liked the way Hojlund took his goal against West Ham, and then celebrated it.

He said: “He didn’t complicate it, he kept it nice and simple. He found the gap, I’m really pleased.

“I loved his celebration, he’s so passionate, ‘I’ve scored again’.

“It’s nice to have a variation of finishes. He’s got a passion about scoring goals.”

Hojlund is now playing with a smile on his face again, it’s just what Manchester United want to see, and the club’s investment in him is currently looking like it could be a smart one.
