Man United demand sent City and Manchester United fans have been discussing what the future holds for Daniel James after the return of Cristiano Ronaldo to Old Trafford.

Ronaldo is set to put pen-to-pencil on a two-year deal with his former club 12 years after he left for Real Madrid.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s Red Devils could allow James to leave the club with his prospects of game-time set to decrease drastically following the arrival of Ronaldo.

James has been heavily linked with a move to City this summer and the Welsh international was mentioned as a potential transfer target for Rodgers’ side while still at Swansea City in April 2019.

City in ‘pole position’ for transfer City are reportedly in ‘pole position’ to complete a stunning move for Ajax forward David Neres.

City could move for a winger before the transfer deadline at 11pm on Tuesday, when the summer market will cease trading.

Rodgers’ side are believed to be keen on adding to their squad ahead of the closing of the transfer window having so far brought in Patson Daka, Boubakary Soumare, Ryan Bertrand and Jannik Vestergaard.

Harvey Barnes is back fit and Ayoze Perez is another option on the flanks for City, who have been linked with a move for Manchester United’s Daniel James this summer.

City learn Europa League draw City favourite Gerry Taggart says there are no weak links in his old side’s Europa League group this season.

City found out which teams they would be playing in the group stage of this season’s competition on Friday.

Rodgers’ men face Napoli, Spartak Moscow and Legia Warsaw in Group C.

All three of City’s opponents are perennial European competitors and Napoli have won the competition before.

Norwich, meanwhile, have endured a difficult return to life in the Premier League having been beaten by Liverpool (3-0) and Manchester City (5-0) in their first two matches back in the top-flight.
