Manchester United News: Paul Pogba wants a Cristiano Ronaldo deal if he is to stay at the club

Manchester United News: French midfielder Paul Pogba’s contract with the Red Devils ends in the Summer of 2022. The negotiations have not been fruitful between the two parties yet.

Paul Pogba is Manchester United’s most expensive transfer buy. The Red Devils bought the Frenchman from Juventus for a whopping £94.50 million before the 2016/17 season.

But it looks like Pogba’s days at Manchester United are coming to an end. The Frenchman only has around seven months left in his contract and talks have not yielded a result that would satisfy both parties.

If negotiations are to fail, Paul Pogba could leave as a free agent in the summer. However, this seems to be a very “costly” breakthrough in the contract negotiations between the two parties.

Manchester United news: Pogba wants a salary equal to Cristiano Ronaldo Manchester United News: Paul Pogba wants a Cristiano Ronaldo deal if he is to stay at the club French media outlet L’Equipe has claimed that Paul Pogba wants to stay with Manchester United. But it would come at a cost that the Red Devils may find too high.

Currently, the highest-earning player at Manchester United is the Portuguese icon, Cristiano Ronaldo. The 5-time Ballon d’Or winner reportedly earns around £385,000 a week. And according to reports, Pogba wants a deal surpassing that.

Earlier this week there were reports that Manchester United were willing to let go of Paul Pogba in January. The Red Devils are reportedly open to selling the Frenchman if a ‘substantial offer’ arrives.

The reported demands made by Pogba are too high, to say the least. It is well known that the World Cup winner is a world-class player. He is one of the best midfielders in the world but has been inconsistent with Manchester United.

Whereas, Cristiano Ronaldo is still going strong at the age of 36. The Portuguese has proven his worth already since returning. Ronaldo has scored 5 goals in the Champions League and 4 goals in the Premier League since returning.

Paul Pogba on the other hand has struggled to find form. He started brightly but faded as the season proceeded. The Frenchman was a substitute in the big game against Liverpool and even got himself a red card when he came on. Keeping all this in mind, it is unlikely that Manchester United bosses would be willing to pay the 28-year old Frenchman so much.

Manchester United news: Paul Pogba’s Suitors It is looking increasingly likely that Pogba would be leaving Manchester United at the end of the season. The Frenchman managed to win the EFL Cup (2016–17) and the UEFA Europa League (2016–17) during his time at Manchester.

As we had reported earlier, Juventus seem to be interested to get back the Frenchman. Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain could also be the next potential destinations if Pogba decides to leave Manchester United at the end of this season.
