The international break has so far not been overly kind to Manchester United on the injury front.
Midfielder Paul Pogba suffered a thigh injury in France’s first training session on Monday, meaning, according to reports in France, that could now be sidelined for up to ten weeks, Edinson Cavani has not linked up with the Uruguay squad because of a tendon injury and Luke Shaw played no part in England’s win over Albania at Wembley Stadium.
However, Harry Maguire shook off his poor form at club level to score for his country on Friday evening in what United will hope to be a boost to his confidence.
Meanwhile, Leicester City manager Brendan Rodgers is continuing to be strongly linked with becoming United’s next manager if they decide to sack Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, amid ongoing pressure.

Pundits send warning to MaguireHarry Maguire has been warned that the media will ‘bide their time’ to take aim at the United captain once again.
Having come under intense pressure at Old Trafford and beyond amid below-par results and performances, Maguire set the ball rolling for impressive England last night.
Indeed, he powered home an early header as the vibrant Three Lions lit up Wembley.
Maguire then caught the eye and drew more criticism with a suggestive celebration that he defended post-match.
The 28-year-old United defender slid on his knees beneath the famous arch at Wembley, first cupping his ears and covering them up with each hand.
Pundit and former United captain Roy Keane slammed Maguire for his ’embarrassing’ moment.

England provide Shaw injury updateEngland manager Gareth Southgate says United left-back Luke Shaw will likely miss Monday’s clash with San Marino.
Shaw was pulled out of the Three Lions squad earlier in the week after sustaining a head injury during the 2-0 defeat to City before the international break.
The defender has been following concussion protocol since and it would now appear he will miss the team’s final World Cup qualifying match.

Robson sends message to KeaneRoy Keane has gone full Roy Keane on United over the last few games – and who can blame him?
Alarming defeats to Liverpool and City have put Ole Gunnar Solskjaer under intense pressure at Old Trafford.
But not everyone can be the gaffer, can they? Here is what Bryan Robson had to say;
It hurts when United aren’t doing well. I want them to be on top and winning. I listen to Roy Keane venting all his passion and drive, true to his intense nature. I see Graeme Souness biting his lip, measuring what he says. That’s one reason why he’s the best pundit of the lot. Keano doesn’t see the intensity which took our team up to second in the Premier League last season and which lit up the start of this season. But then not everyone can be the gaffer.
Henderson given United transfer adviceDean Henderson has been advised to leave United at the earliest opportunity – amid transfer links with Newcastle United.
In a seismic yet controversial £305million deal, the Magpies have new owners after a consortium backed by the Saudi Arabia Public Investment Fund (PIF) struck up an agreement with their now-former chairman Mike Ashley.
It’s a takeover which will see them emerge as major players in the transfer market.
According to reports, Henderson has been earmarked as a possible Newcastle target for the January window as the England goalkeeper continues to play second fiddle to David de Gea at United.
Having displaced the long-serving Spaniard last season, the 24-year-old graduate missed a large chunk of pre-season through Covid-19 and has only made one Carabao Cup appearance, so far, this campaign.

Maguire warned after England celebrationYou will have all seen or heard what Roy Keane had to say about THAT celebration.
But what did Ian Wright make of it all?
Here are some thoughts from the ITV pundit as he shares a warning for the United captain;
When you look at how Man United are playing at the moment and how vulnerable they are, you have to say… to dig the press out like that. They wait for their time. It’s not like they’re [United] playing unbelievable stuff where you then think he’s going to be fine from now. They will bid their time.
