Manchester United supporters have named the man of the match after the FA Cup fifth round win over West Ham.

United had to come from behind to beat the Hammers and win the game the hard way.

The Red Devils scored three goals in the last 20 minutes, with Alejandro Garnacho making a 90th minute breakthrough to put United in front, with Fred extending the lead to 3-1 in injury time.

United had needed an own goal to draw level, having had an earlier Casemiro effort ruled out for offside.

Manchester United fans voted for the man of the match via a vote on the club website and app.

  • Alejandro Garnacho: 66 per cent
  • Wout Weghorst: 9 per cent
  • Casemiro: 8 per cent
  • David de Gea: 8 per cent
  • Bruno Fernandes: 5 per cent
  • Other players 1 per cent or less

Alejandro Garnacho was a deserving winner. This was his fourth goal of the season and second in 2023. All four have come in wins, with two in the Premier League, one in the FA Cup, and one in the Europa League.

This was a big victory which keeps Manchester United’s momentum going. The reward was another home draw, this time against Fulham.

Erik ten Hag has been a lucky manager with cup draws so far in his time at the club. Sometimes you need that, and his team are taking full advantage.

Old Trafford is turning into a fortress again. Even when United do go behind, the team come back twice as strong.
