Manchester United defeated Everton 2-0 at Old Trafford on Saturday afternoon, here’s who won the fans’ man of the match vote.

On a miserable day at Old Trafford, Everton will be wondering how they ended up losing 2-0 after another below-par Manchester United display.

Erik ten Hag‘s side once again played without a plan, style or any real signs of improvement, despite the stakes being so high.

The game was decided by two moments of initiative from Alejandro Garnacho as he won two penalties which were converted by Bruno Fernandes and Marcus Rashford.

Now, the fanbase has been voting for the player of the match…

After the game, United fans took to the club’s official website and app to vote for their man of the match.

Ultimately, there was only ever going to be one winner with Garnacho taking home the award, earning over half the vote.

Here are the results…

  • Alejandro Garnacho: 56 per cent
  • Bruno Fernandes: 19 per cent
  • Andre Onana: 7 per cent
  • Marcus Rashford: 6 per cent
  • Jonny Evans: 5 per cent
  • All others have less than 5 per cent

Garnacho played a vital role in this win and without him, it probably wouldn’t happen with the two sides both being poor today.

Garnacho won two penalties, creating two chances and completing 67 per cent of his dribbles. The one negative was his finishing as he missed two big chances according to FotMob.

Alejandro Garnacho praised for player-of the-match performance

After Garnacho’s impressive performance, his manager Ten Hag couldn’t help but praise the match-winner.

As quoted by Simon Stone, Ten Hag said: “I love to work with Alejandro Garnacho. He likes a challenge. He is very brave and confident.

“Our job is to push him to high levels. He has high potential. When you are young, you don’t know what it means to perform at a high level every third game.”

As Garnacho’s importance to the team grows, he continues to impress and at just 19, he’s an exciting player we’re delighted to have at the club.
