Transfer News: Manchester United keeping tabs on Bayer Leverkusen starlet Florian Wirtz According to Transfermarketweb, Manchester United are interested in Bayer Leverkusen wonderkid Florian Wirtz who is steadily building himself a reputation in the Bundesliga.
The 18-year-old came through the youth system at 1. FC Koln before moving to Leverkusen last year. He has scored two goals and made three assists in just three games this season.
A regular for Leverkusen, Wirtz has already made 50 appearances for them, scoring and assisting 11 goals apiece. An attacking midfielder, he is also capable of playing on either wing. It would appear Leverkusen replaced Kai Havertz with another wonderkid.
Unlike the Chelsea star, Wirtz lacks the same versatility but is steadily building himself a name in the sport. His contract at the BayArena runs until 2026 and there is no release clause included.
The Germans do not appear to be opposed to selling their budding superstar. However, it will not be cheap, and they will demand €40-50m for his services.
Florian Wirtz , one for the future. Incredible talent and many clubs from Premier League plus Bayern are looking at him – but he has currently no releause clause in his contract, expiring in June 2026. 🚫🇩🇪 #Wirtz

— Fabrizio Romano (@FabrizioRomano) September 13, 2021 Primarily deployed as an attacking midfielder, Wirtz is unlikely to play regularly at United at this point in time, should he make the move. Bruno Fernandes is a shoo-in for the number 10 spot and is unlikely to be dropped for the youngster.
While signing him will add depth to the Red Devils squad, it could come at the cost of the youngster’s development. He is better off staying at Leverkusen for the time being and improving his game.
