Yet another remarkable update in the Cristiano Ronaldo transfer saga has been forthcoming on Friday afternoon.
City links The name of 5-time Ballon d’Or winner Ronaldo has of course taken centre stage in the media over the last 24 hours.
This comes as the Portuguese attacker pushes for a departure from Serie A heavyweights Juventus before the transfer window slams shut next week.
Speaking in a press conference this afternoon, meanwhile, Bianconeri boss Max Allegri confirmed that CR7 is indeed primed for an imminent exit:

In turn, one club and one club only were initially named as a realistic landing spot for Ronaldo.
After missing out on a deal for Harry Kane, Manchester City, in desperate need of reinforcements up top, were said to be ready to lure the 36-year-old back to the Premier League.
Some outlets even went as far as to suggest that an offer to Juventus was imminent:

Old Trafford bound? The early hours of Friday, however, have seen the CR7 saga twist in an almost unimaginable new direction.
Incredibly, as per a host of reliable sources across the English media, Manchester United have now opened negotiations with their one-time prodigal son, over a sensational return to Old Trafford:

Not only that, but the Red Devils look set to have a free run at Ronaldo’s signature, with City now widely understood to have pulled out of the race for the veteran hitman:
