Manchester United star Bruno Fernandes has opened up on ‘interesting’ comments once made by Cristiano Ronaldo. Both players are team-mates for club and country. And Fernandes is clearly in awe of his fellow Portugal international, who broke another record on Tuesday night.
Ronaldo returned to United on transfer deadline day and, in the short time since, has struck five times.
And he’s been in similarly impressive form for Portugal, too.
Ronaldo broke the record for the most hat-tricks scored for a national team as Portugal hammered Luxembourg 5-0 last night.
It was the veteran’s 10th treble for his country, and his 115th international goal of his career.
And Fernandes, speaking to TNT Sports in the aftermath of the victory, has revealed Ronaldo’s old comments about breaking records are ‘interesting’.
“The same. Hungry to break more,” he said when asked about Ronaldo.

Now, United will be hoping Ronaldo can fire them to victory against Leicester in Saturday’s Premier League clash.
They’re currently on a bad run after failing to win four of their last six matches across all competitions.
But victory at the King Power Stadium, against their rivals for Champions League qualification, would be a statement of interest.
After his heroics for Portugal on Tuesday, Ronaldo took to social media to express his delight at sending more records tumbling.
“Another victory, another step towards our goal, another historic night in defence of our colours!” he said.
“Everything becomes easier when we play at home and in front of an audience that cares for us from the first to the last minute…

“I had promised that I would always be looking for more and more and more!
“It’s in my DNA and in our DNA, we’re never content, we never lower our arms and we always go.”
Meanwhile, former United star Bryan Robson has compared Ronaldo to Ryan Giggs.
“For his obvious ability and what he has achieved, it’s indisputable that Cristiano is the best,” said the 64-year-old.
“People have talked about his age since he came back to United, but his fitness levels are still fantastic – and he is still producing great football because of that.
“I am sure he is going to be another Ryan Giggs – and play on until he is 40 simply because his fitness levels are so high.”

And he added: “He brings back that charisma that has been synonymous with Manchester United and maybe lacking in the recent past.
“The most important thing is the influence he can have over the young players, especially forwards like Mason Greenwood, Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial.
“They can see the way he trains, see the way he looks after himself, see his dedication, see the way he still enjoys training, enjoys his football – and always has a smile on his face around the training ground.
“If young boys don’t look at that and don’t take that on board they’re never going to be top players.
“They need to appreciate they are seeing such professionalism and that’s the reason you get to the top.”
