Man Utd Identify 3rd RB Leipzig Player That They Want To Sign After Multiple Scouting Trips

BACK David Tully Mar 14th 2026 RB Leipzig captain David Raum could become a “serious” transfer target for Man Utd this summer, according to reports. TEAMtalk claim that the Red Devils have been keeping tabs on the German international for several years, and scouts have watched him in action on multiple occasions this season. United are on the lookout for a new left-back, and Raum’s name could well top the list of options when the transfer window reopens. Tyrell Malacia is set to leave Old Trafford this summer, and it looks like Luke Shaw will get more competition for his starting spot next campaign. What do fans need to know about Raum? The defender came through the ranks of Greuther Furth before making a name for himself after making the switch to Hoffenheim on a free transfer in the summer of 2021. Raum scored 3 goals and provided 13 assists in 35 appearances during the 2021/22 campaign, whilst also being handed his first caps for Germany. He moved to Leipzig for €26m just 13 months after joining Hoffenheim, and he has been a regular starter for the Bundesliga side over the past four seasons. He will turn 28 next month, though, so he isn’t that much younger than Shaw. Man Utd are interested in several Leipzig players Yan Diomande has been watched on a regular basis, along with Raum. The Ivorian has the potential to be a top-class player, and he could be brought in to strengthen the club’s options on the left wing. However, they could be priced out of a move for the 19-year-old, with Leipzig said to be demanding upwards of €100m (£86m). In addition to Diomande, it is believed that the Red Devils do hold an interest in Castello Lukeba. The France international has also been linked with Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool.
