Man United’s stance on what it will take to loan out 22-year-old starlet this summer – We All Follow United

Transfer News: Manchester United will loan out Diogo Dalot to AC Milan only if the move is made permanent next summer According to BBC Sport (h/t Mirror), Manchester United are ready to send Diogo Dalot on loan to Italian giants AC Milan this summer, on one condition.

The Portuguese international spent last campaign on loan at the San Siro to mixed success. He did, however, leave enough of an impression for the Rosonneri to request him back on loan. United are not averse to permitting it given that the deal is made permanent next summer.

Dalot was one of Jose Mourinho’s final singings at Old Trafford. Injury and inconsistency saw him struggle to make much of an impact and was largely a peripheral player at the Theatre of Dreams. With the Red Devils pursuing Kieran Trippier, Dalot’s time at the club appears to be numbered.

With two years left on his current deal, the Red Devils do have an advantage when it comes to negotiations. The player, for his part, is keen to return to Milan and continue his journey with Stefano Pioli’s side.

It comes as little surprise given the opportunities he received at San Siro. Dalot’s improved playtime also brought him to the notice of Portuguese boss Fernando Santos, who called him up as a late replacement for Joao Cancelo for the summer’s Euros. It is debatable if it would have happened had he stayed at United last season.

Milan are back in the UEFA Champions League and Dalot could certainly do with playing in Europe’s biggest tournament.

By demanding that an obligation to buy be included, the die has been cast on his future at Old Trafford. It will, however, come as no surprise to those who have seen him struggle at the Theatre of Dreams.
