Manchester United star Kobbie Mainoo stands alone among all Premier League midfielders for a key statistic, it has now emerged.
Superb start
United have endured a shaky start to the 2026/27 Premier League season but Mainoo has been the exception, standing out with his brilliant performances.
Coming off the back of a disappointing World Cup in which England boss Thomas Tuchel bizarrely overlooked him, he has embraced the challenge and has hit the ground running this term.
While the Carrington academy graduate’s on-ball quality has never been questioned, he seems to have raised his level, now possessing more physical power and stronger defensive capabilities.
Mainoo has bossed every opponent put in front of him and were it not for teammates still lagging behind, United would arguably be sitting far higher in the Premier League table.
After United’s Champions League opener against Sabah FK last week, Michael Carrick explained that Mainoo is a joy to work with, as he hailed the partnership he is developing in the middle of the park with Belgium international Youri Tielemans.
And the stats prove just how brilliantly Mainoo is playing.
Sensational stat
According to statisticians WhoScored, Mainoo has the highest pass accuracy (93.9%) of any midfielder in the Premier League this season.
This ranking factors in midfielders who have played a minimum of 250 minutes.

United fans and Carrick alike will be desperate for Mainoo to maintain this standard and push on even further as the season wears on.
He is currently a shoo-in for the starting XI, with the only debate being who joins him in the pivot: Tielemans, Andrey Santos or Carlos Baleba.
Carrick recently revealed that Baleba will make his United debut after the upcoming international break.
