Man United could cash in on Victor Lindelof this summer, with the centre-half attracting interest from Turkey.

It has been widely reported that Manchester United may have to sell before they can buy this summer, with Sir Jim Ratcliffe and INEOS working with a tighter budget than in years gone by.

Big money has been saved with Anthony Martial and Raphael Varane walking away on free transfers, though some major sales will have to be made before the close of play, if Erik ten Hag is to be given all the transfer targets that he asks for.

One man whose future has been up in the balance recently is Victor Lindelof. The Ice Man, often on the fringes of things, has always done a consistent job for the Old Trafford side without being a guaranteed starter.

Now, Florian Plettenberg has provided an update on his future. According to his information, United would be ‘open’ to the sale of the Reds star, who has 259 club appearances since arriving from Benfica.

Lindelof is attracting interest from European giant Fenerbahce, with the Swede having a contract that winds down in 2025. Simply put, United have to sell Lindelof now for a cut-price fee, or risk losing him for nothing next summer.

🔴 Understand Fenerbahçe Istanbul is indeed interested in Victor #Lindelöf!

… with Manchester United would also be open to a sale of the 29 y/o. Contract valid until 2025.

If Lindelöf were to leave, it could mean #MUFC will sign two central defenders.

If Lindelof does leave, it would mean United would have to sign two central defenders, despite the fact that Jonny Evans is all set to pen a one-year contract extension and remain at the club.

Jarrad Branthwaite is the name most-linked with filling that void and that would be an unreal addition, though United would need to find another target. Perhaps someone like Leny Yoro or Jean-Clair Todibo.

Lindelof has been consistently solid for this club ever since arriving so while it would be somewhat sad to see him go, it would make sense.
