Man United could yet cash in on Marcus Rashford this summer, although the club’s preference is to keep the forward.

For many years now, Marcus Rashford has been Manchester United’s poster boy. He’s earned that title due to his brilliant on-field performances and fantastic community work off it. However, in football, you’re only as good as your last game.

The 2023/24 season was a dismal one for Rashy. He struggled for large portions, playing without confidence and freedom. That seemingly affected his attitude away from the game, with the Englishman disciplined by the club on numerous occasions. It’d all end with the forward not being selected for England duty ahead of the European Championship.

Rumours about Rashy’s future have been limited, though today, the Manchester Evening News have provided an update on that front. Interestingly, United are refusing to rule out the possibility of selling the major star this summer.

This comes at a time where there is a possible change to Rashford’s representation in the offing. His brother, and agent, Dwaine Maynard, has held discussions with an agency about potentially managing the United man.

Rashford is currently under contract, having signed a five-year deal just last summer worth £325,000-a-week.

United insist that their preference is to keep Rashford and help him return to his best form, however, the club have not dismissed the possibility of parting with one of their prized assets after his relationship with Ten Hag has deteriorated.

The United #10 is due to report for pre-season this coming Monday, and he could sit down for talks about his future, now that Dan Ashworth is in place at Old Trafford.

With United now wary of funds due to Premier League Profit & Sustainability rules, the club could look to cash in on star names like Rashford, in order to balance the books and give the United gaffer some money to spend on new squad members.

PSG are once again the club credited with an interest in signing Rashy this summer. Let’s see if they firm up their keenness with an official bid.
