Man United ‘planning talks’ with out-of-favour star before deciding on where his future lies: report

Man United may have not yet made their mind up on what’s happening with Jadon Sancho.

Manchester United Football Club have some rather huge decisions to make during this massive summer transfer window. It’s INEOS’ and Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s first in charge, so they’ll be keen to make a positive impression and set the right tone.

Obviously, Erik ten Hag’s future has to be sorted soon. After that, though, I can argue the Jadon Sancho situation should be next in line. The Englishman had a very public fallout with the Dutch gaffer and that situation is yet to be resolved.

There’s no way back for Sancho if Ten Hag remains at the club, though United have a big decision to make in regard to the English wide man if they do choose to part ways with their current boss.

ESPN have provided an update on Sancho, claiming that United are now ‘planning talks’ with the out-of-favour star, before deciding on where his future lies.

Sancho has not ran out for United since August, before a loan move to Borussia Dortmund was sanctioned in January.

United want to speak directly to Sancho before making a final decision on where he will be playing his football next season.

A move away is still the most likely outcome for Sancho at this point in time, though due to his high wages and contract length, a permanent transfer away could prove ‘problematic’.

Regardless of what happens with Ten Hag, I firmly believe Sancho should not be offered a way back at Old Trafford. He has shown his true colours during this feud and he has shown zero loyalty to the badge on his chest. I’d rather not have a player like that in the dressing room.

It does feel like another loan move will be sanctioned, which does mean United will be paying a large portion of Sancho’s wages for the foreseeable future. It’s not an ideal scenario, but it’s the hand we’ve been dealt..

Do you think a Man United move to keep Jadon Sancho would make sense? Let us know your thoughts in the comment box below.
