Man United are still looking to sell Mason Greenwood this coming summer.

Manchester United will likely have to sell before they can buy this summer, with money thought to be tight due to FFP and Premier League Profit & Sustainability restrictions.

Sir Jim Ratcliffe and INEOS will clear plenty of wages off the books as the likes of Raphael Varane, Jadon Sancho and many other big earners are looking set to leave. Another man who’ll be out the exit door, hopefully for a sizable transfer fee, is Mason Greenwood.

English media outlet talkSPORT have provided an update on the future of the Englishman, claiming that United ‘plan’ to sell the 22-year-old outright this summer. Amid heavy interest.

Greenwood has enjoyed an excellent season with Getafe by all accounts, which has led to top European sides looking to bring in the attacker. Napoli have already made contact over a potential move, while Atletico Madrid are also keen.

United, understandably, want to cash in on the forward, presumably while his transfer value is high on the back of a solid return to the professional game after a couple of years away.

Greenwood has just one year left to run on his current deal, so it’s effectively now or never for United. While the fee is likely to be reduced already as a result of his contract situation, you’d like to think that the Old Trafford side can fetch in a decent fee for the attacker.

As far as a potential United return goes, there’s just too much water under the bridge. He shouldn’t be welcomed back to Old Trafford with open arms in my opinion. Letting him leave and severing ties completely feels like the correct thing to do.
