Man United are showing an interest in signing Marcus Thuram on a free transfer this summer.
Manchester United will no doubt be looking to bring in a top level striker of some sort this summer. After losing Cristiano Ronaldo in December, coupled with consistent Anthony Martial injury problems, the Old Trafford side have to see bringing in someone new as a priority.
Several names have been linked, including the likes of Harry Kane and Victor Osimhen. However, don’t be surprised to see United look further afield.
Enter, Marcus Thuram.
It’s TalkSPORT with the claim, who state that United are ‘on alert’ as the 25-year-old striker is set to be available on a free transfer this summer.
The Reds aren’t the only interested Premier League party, with Arsenal and Chelsea also keen on the Borussia Monchengladbach forward.
Thuram has rejected the latest contract offer on the table from the Bundesliga outfit, putting Europe’s top sides ‘on notice’.
The attacker has scored fourteen goals so far this term, with the decision by Monchengladbach to not consider offers in January looking a little bit silly. Now, they’re preparing to lose one of their key men for nothing.
United were keen on a move in the mid-season window, while as we gear up towards the summer, you can bet they’ll be even more interested parties from all across Europe.
Thuram can play on the wing or up top, with that versatility no doubt leaving Erik ten Hag even more intrigued.
You’d like to think that United will finish inside the top four, meaning they’ll have Champions League football on the table for the 2023/24 season. That could make acquiring their top transfer targets that little bit easier…
