Man United could still make a move to sign Manuel Ugarte from PSG, with the sides remaining in negotiations.
Manchester United Football Club are now pushing to sign a new central midfielder this summer. The Old Trafford side have been linked with several players in that position, including Manuel Ugarte.
Recent claims suggested that the Red Devils had given up in their pursuit of the man from Uruguay, largely due to PSG’s hefty asking price for the man they only signed twelve months ago.
However, that may not be the case, according to Florian Plettenberg. He says that United are not giving up in their pursuit of the 23-year-old, claiming that the sides are ‘still in negotiations’ to acquire the midfielder on a permanent deal.
The player himself wants the move to happen, with his agent, Jorge Mendes, trying to make a deal.

I do not see this United ownership group upping their bid for Ugarte by too much. PSG are wanting somewhere around the £60m mark and the Reds just don’t have that sort of money available at this moment in time. Meaning it’ll be solely dependent on the Ligue 1 club significantly lowering their asking price.
Make no mistake about it, Ugarte would be an unreal signing if the club could somehow pull it off. I just think it’s a tough order at this point.
