Man United are still battling to win the signature of Tosin Adarabioyo.

Just yesterday, we covered a claim that suggested Newcastle United were closing in on a move to sign Manchester United-linked Tosin Adarabioyo. It felt like the Red Devils had completely missed the boat on the Fulham centre-half.

However, the race may not be over… BBC journalist Nizaar Kinsella provided a short-but-sweet update on that front, taking to Twitter to offer an update. According to his latest information, United are not giving up hope in pursuit of the 26-year-old, as they ‘could rival’ fellow Premier League side Newcastle for the signing.

Adarabioyo has enjoyed himself at Fulham this season, though he is available on a free transfer this summer. United have a massive need at centre-half. A move to bring him in just makes so much sense.

Manchester United could rival Newcastle’s bid for Tosin Adarabioyo.

Fulham also have a two-year extension on the table for Bobby De Cordova-Reid. Likely to offer a Willian another year: https://t.co/xArswgwl4u

Lisandro Martinez has been consistently injured. Raphael Varane is leaving. The future of Victor Lindelof, Jonny Evans and Harry Maguire is uncertain. Acquiring someone with vast Premier League knowledge, without a transfer fee, feels smart.

It’d be an astute first signing for INEOS to make, though beating out Newcastle United is going to be tough. At the end of the day, we have to be realistic. They finished higher than the Reds in the league this term, albeit only on goal difference.

United would likely have to gazump Newcastle’s contract offer to have any shot at getting a deal done, unless Adarabioyo has plans to move back to his hometown of Manchester…
