Man United look to snap up red-hot Serie A star, would be dream heir to Maguire – report

Manchester United have reportedly entered the fray for highly-rated Fiorentina defender Pietro Comuzzo.

According to calciomercato.it, the Red Devils, along with Paris Saint Germain are interested in signing Comuzzo.

The 19-year-old centre-back, a regular starter under Raffaele Palladino, has quickly established himself as one of Italy’s brightest defensive prospects.

Already part of Luciano Spalletti’s senior national team setup, Comuzzo’s performances have attracted interest from several top clubs.

Napoli have already made a €20 million bid for Comuzzo, but Fiorentina rejected the offer.

Instead, the club reportedly aims to secure a higher price by leveraging interest from other European heavyweights.

Speaking to Calciomercato.it, renowned talent scout Michele Fratini expressed confidence in Comuzzo’s abilities and future prospects. “Despite his young age, Comuzzo has shown remarkable maturity. With the right guidance, he could become one of the top defenders in Europe,”

United, who are preparing for another major squad overhaul, are monitoring the young defender as they seek to strengthen their backline.

After a disastrous start to his managerial tenure, Ruben Amorim will be looking to make massive changes in the summer.

United will be looking to add young players to their squad who are willing to be part of Amorim’s vision. Comuzzo fits that profile perfectly.

Fiorentina president Rocco Commisso plans to retain Comuzzo until the end of the season, hoping the club’s continued participation in European competitions will boost his valuation to €35-40 million.

Whether he remains in Italy or heads to England or France, Comuzzo’s development will undoubtedly be one to watch.
