Man United will receive a minimal loan fee from Borussia Dortmund, as they have re-signed Jadon Sancho until the end of the season.
Manchester United have finally gotten rid of Jadon Sancho, albeit only on a short-term loan deal.
The Englishman heads back to Borussia Dortmund, with the club confirming that news earlier today.
Shortly after the news was confirmed, the Manchester Evening News confirmed that the Red Devils will receive a loan fee for the Englishman, with around £3million set to be guaranteed.
United will recoup most of Sancho’s salary as part of the deal, with the loan running until the end of June.
Potential add-ons could make up an extra few million for United, but for the full amount to be reached, Sancho would have to feature in every Dortmund game, while ensuring his new team qualify for next season’s Champions League.
While that’s unlikely, United see any potential fee beyond the £3m mark as a bonus, having cleared the majority of Sancho’s wages off the books for the rest of the season, while the player himself has a chance to return to top level football.
From a personal point of view, I’m just glad Sancho is no longer in and around the squad. He’s obviously had a major fall out with the gaffer and having that attitude in the dressing room was never going to end well.
I’d genuinely be surprised if he ever pulls on a red jersey again, though I guess in professional sport at the highest level, anything can happen.
