Man United have learned how much it’d cost to sign Marc Guehi from Crystal Palace.

It feels like the summer transfer window has only just been and gone. However, Manchester United Football Club are already being linked with names for next January and summer.

This week, we’ve been covering claims linking the Old Trafford side with a move to acquire Marc Guehi from Crystal Palace. The centre-back’s stock is on the rise after some consistently excellent performances.

Over the weekend, Football Insider provided an update on that front, as they have learned how much it’d cost United to sign the 23-year-old centre-back. According to their story, the Reds will have to pay ‘at least’ £60m to sign the player in 2024.

Guehi is a target for United, along with other Premier League sides, with Erik ten Hag looking to add to his pool of centre-back options following injuries to both Raphael Varane and Lisandro Martinez.

The Englishman is unwilling to move clubs in the January transfer window, which will be a welcome boost to Crystal Palace. However, I’m not really sure United would have the resources to fund such a move in the mid-season window anyway.

With a contract until 2026, Palace are well within their rights to demand a huge fee to let one of their key players leave. I actually believe £60m would be very reasonable in the current market, with Guehi really shining in the Premier League over the last year or so.

Guehi’s availability is a massive factor in United’s interest. He missed just one of Palace’s 40 games last season. Availability is reliability. The other positive thing is that Guehi is only going to improve as time goes on.

I really do like the idea of moving to bring this guy in.

Do you think Marc Guehi would be a good signing? Let us know your thoughts in the comment box below.
