Man United ‘leading the chase’ to sign young striker as Reds look to change their transfer plans: report

Man United are said to be at the front of the queue to acquire Port Vale’s Baylee Dipepa.

Manchester United Football Club are moving in a different direction under INEOS and Sir Jim Ratcliffe. The Old Trafford side are looking to change their plans, signing younger talents, rather than bringing in the ready-made footballers.

According to The Sun on Sunday, the Red Devils have eyes on Port Vale’s Baylee Dipepa. The report claims that United are ‘leading the chase’ to sign the young striker, who has already represented England at youth level.

Dipepa scored in both of his England U17 appearances this month, with United now keen on completing the signing ‘soon’.

Aged just 17, Dipepa has already played for Port Vale 20 times this season, scoring twice.

United scouts have been told they have to be at the ‘front of the queue’ for domestic talents, with Dipepa among the first signings of that type the club is trying to make.

Dipepa is still raw and learning his trade. There’s no doubt that there is always an element of risk involved when making these sort of transfer moves. However, we have to trust INEOS and Sir Jim to do the right thing.

The Red Devils need to stop wasting money and this feels like the best way to start doing that. There’s way less risk involved here. At the end of the day, if it doesn’t work out, the figures are substantially lower and the club are taking a much smaller hit.

Dipepa obviously is massively talented if he’s already representing England at youth level. There’s no better place for him to hone his talent than at the Theatre of Dreams.

Do you think a Man United move to sign Baylee Dipepa would make sense? Let us know your thoughts in the comment box below.
