Both Man United and Tottenham are interested in Stade Rennais playmaker Lovro Majer and could approach with a formal offer in the summer. The Red Devils have had their shortcomings in the recent past but the arrival of the Dutch manager has managed to bridge the gap between the club and the likes of Liverpool and Man City. Man United have had positive results against all their nearest opponents and Erik ten Hag doesn’t really want to stop this organic growth. His choice of footballers has been quite good and the coach is eyeing more bodies to cope with the pressure of mounting fixtures. Croatia international arrived in France from Croatian side Dinamo Zagreb last term and had an instant impact with 14 goal contributions in the Ligue 1. But this campaign Majer has failed to make his mark. That said, teams are still circling around for his signature. But the Rennes coach doesn’t want to lose the prized young prospect so easily and wants to invest more energy and time on the pitch to get the best out of Lovro. Stade Rennais paid to the tune of €12m for his services and would demand a fee in the region of €40m for him. A technically gifted footballer, the Croatian can be equally receptive with his defensive attributes whenever needed. Capable of playing in multiple midfield positions he could provide a big boost to Man United’s hopes as the Red Devils recently lost Donny van de Beek for the remaining part of the campaign with a horrific injury.
